It’s not a new thing that Internet marketers and Affiliate marketers create review sites to generate an income. These sites created as alternatives to sales and fancy splash pages allow site owners to continue to market their products and services to web surfers, but in a less aggressive manner. A basic review site consists of several reviews, written by the site owner or a ghost writer, for a particular product or service. Also available on the site would be a link leading the reader to your affiliate code or a sales page for your potential customer to visit after reading your reviews and becoming interested in your product.
Like everything else in technology, internet marketing is evolving and a new breed of review sites has emerged. These new sites are a place where many similar products and/or services are listed, but the reviews are written by the customers who have had experiences with the products. This Windsor Motels site gives a basic example if this type of customer review site in action. The ‘products’ are simply all of the hotels or motels in the Windsor, Ontario area. All the reviews posted on the site are unique content created by the readers themselves. Along with the reviews the site also has plenty of well placed links to let a potential traveler book a reservation at any of the listed hotels using the site owner’s affiliate code.
Internet surfers are getting more savvy everyday and are not just willing to click on any link they see anymore. There are several advantages to this new breed of review site over the standard review site style. With the new customer-review style site, the site has on-going unique free content added, the content is from real customers which adds trust, and the site is search engine friendly. Of course, with the added benefits that are received from these customer review style web sites comes a bit more work in regards to monitoring the comments and reviews that are added. They must be filtered for spam and perhaps inappropriate content. But, this work is a small price to pay for a site that creates trust for the reader and sales for the site owner. Filtering customer comments on a blog is standard practice though. Perhaps, processing the reviews might be considered the ‘hard’ part’. But the ‘hard’ part of the work can be taken care of by this Wp plugin for review sites, so truthfully, this process is as simple is putting together a regular WordPress blog.
