How often do you hear home business advice such as keep your eye on the ball and never give up. Sure, it gets boring and mundane after awhile but the truth is, you really should be listening to it if you’re serious about succeeding in your network marketing business.
Many lose their original focus. They start with a plan to reach a goal but as most of us know, there are any number of obstacles along the way to throw them off course.
And did you realize that some of these obstacles which aren’t discussed a lot are the company superstars. What!…you say. It’s true but don’t go blaming these successful guys and gals for your lack of business growth.
Here’s the problem…focusing on your company’s superstars is good to a certain extent but there needs to be a point where you let go and use the information they give to build your own businesses.
The truth is, many don’t and virtually become groupies in a sense to a successful network marketer. We could sit here for hours reeling off a list of stars, heck, in my business alone we have some of the most successful networkers of all time. But do I worship them? No. Do I respect them. Yes.
With all due respect, the Renegade Network Marketer Ann Sieg is often revered more than respected and while the adulation is great, I’m sure Sieg would rather people focus on their own business goals rather than herself.
Legendary network marketer Randy Gage once said…”I will not be anybody’s guru.” He explained in a prosperity series he created that too many networkers focus on the achievements of the individual and get caught up in trance like state rather than using this person’s achievements as a source of inspiration to grow their business.
And this is where you need to draw the line if you fall in this category. The superstars achieved success because of a number of reasons with perseverance high on the list. The reason companies use them is as motivation for their reps. When you listen to these people speak you are looking for the gold nuggets that helped them grow their business. After they’re finished, let them go.
Always remember, the company you’re with is the vehicle you’re using to create the type of financial security you want. When you started your network marketing home business, you started with an end goal. Use the “gurus” for inspiration but don’t worship them.
The reality is, they simply followed the core principles of growing a home business and stuck at it to become successful. Always remember this piece of at home business advice…grow the business for you, not the gurus.
